Choosing an Interior Designer in St. Petersburg, Florida: What Sets Us Apart</a>?

If you’ve decided to take on a new design project in your home or business — whether it’s a simple room refresh or an entire renovation — you may be wondering: how do I choose an interior designer to help bring my vision to life?

With numerous interior design firms in St. Petersburg, Florida, you may feel overwhelmed with making a decision. To help you out, we would like to highlight what you can expect when you choose Balancing Act as the interior design company for your project. We will share our company values and strengths, what sets us apart, our process, and much more.

What are the Benefits of Working with an Interior Designer?

When you are considering hiring an interior designer, you may ask questions like, “Do I need to hire an interior designer or should I do this myself? Is it worth the money? What are the benefits of working with an interior designer?”

We’d love to answer these questions by sharing the benefits of hiring an interior designer for your upcoming project, as well as what specifically sets Balancing Act apart.

Time-Saving and Money-Saving

Hiring an interior designer brings the invaluable benefit of saving you significant time by taking care of numerous tasks such as research, sourcing, and project coordination.

For example, Balancing Act has been serving St. Petersburg and surrounding areas for the past three years and during this time we have built a number of industry connections. We work with a team of local vendors and contacts who are ready to assist with various parts of the project. This includes contractors, handyman services, painting, art framing, window treatments, local furniture salespeople and more.

Now for the money saving aspect of hiring an interior designer. We know what you might be thinking: hiring an interior designer costs money… So how could I possibly save money?

At Balancing Act, we partner with many companies as part of their Designer Trade Program, and we are happy to pass along any discounts directly to our clients. We also know the best prices and brands when sourcing items for your project!

Just take it from our recent client, Bruce, who hired us for a full home renovation. We ended up saving him thousands by the end of the project! Here’s part of his review for our company:

“When we began budgeting for our renovation I was concerned about the cost of working with an interior design firm. Now that the project is complete I realize that the discounts Balancing Act receives from vendors more than pays for their services. The overall cost of Peggy's services represented approximately 3% of the total project cost. Peggy saved us thousands on building products, fixtures, textures and finishes. And, we would not have the modern, clean, comfortable design we wanted.”

Style Meets Function

Another valuable advantage of hiring an interior designer is achieving a seamless balance between style and function in your space. Designing a beautiful space without considering functionality can lead to a frustrating disconnect between style and practicality, resulting in a visually appealing but ultimately impractical environment.

After a professional assessment of your space, we take into consideration your needs, budget and desired style before creating a design that not only looks beautiful but also optimizes functionality. The result? A space that is both aesthetically pleasing and purposeful.

Fresh Eyes & Unexpected Ideas

By enlisting the expertise of our design team, you gain the advantage of our trained and unbiased eye. We can envision creative design solutions that bring a "wow" factor to your project. Our fresh perspectives and innovative approaches ensure that your space stands out with unexpected and unique touches, creating a space that truly feels like your home.

Less Pressure & Fewer Decisions

One of the greatest benefits of hiring an interior designer is our ability to narrow down the array of options available for paint, flooring, fabric, furniture, lighting, decor, and more.

For example, let’s say you were designing a bathroom on your own. You’d be faced with the task of choosing from hundreds of different paint colors, tile options, fixtures, and more! This can feel very overwhelming for many people.

However, when you decide to work with Balancing Act’s team of interior designers, we would carefully curate a tailored selection of options that align with your vision and preferences, saving you valuable time and taking the pressure off of you!

Bring Your Vision to Life

Another benefit of hiring an interior designer is having a professional that can translate your vision into reality ensuring that your personal style shines throughout your home or business. With our expertise in creating cohesive and fresh designs, we skillfully blend elements, materials, and colors to create a balanced space that reflects your unique taste and leaves a lasting impression.

What Sets Balancing Act Apart?

Balancing Act is a local, woman-owned business that is committed to creating the perfect balance of beauty and function. We know you have many options when choosing an interior design firm, so below we’d like to share what makes Balancing Act unique.

Boutique Company

Balancing Act is a boutique company, meaning we take on a limited number of clients at a time to ensure you get the most exclusive and personalized experience possible.

Specializing in Modern Coastal Design

As interior designers in St. Petersburg and the surrounding communities throughout Pinellas County, we specialize in Modern Coastal design — a design style that blends the laid back seaside aesthetic of a traditional coastal home with a mid-century modern vibe.

Of course, we gladly take on projects working with any design style (or combination of styles) as well. We’ve designed contemporary kitchens, nautical living rooms, boho bedrooms, and much more.

For instance, take a look at this contemporary kitchen we recently designed as part of an entire home renovation.

Organization and Efficiency

One of our top priorities is to use our time in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. In order to accomplish this, organization is key.

We have dedicated systems and lists to keep everything for your project organized and on schedule. For example, detailed spreadsheets help us keep every design selection in one place, which can then be shared with the contractor for ordering items and keeping everyone on the same page during the design process.
